AWS has enhanced AWS Config rules by adding classification information from AWS Control Tower Control Catalog, improving compliance framework mapping and management.
- Enables mapping of Config rules to compliance frameworks like CIS-v8.0, FedRAMP-r4, and NIST-CSF-v1.1
- Adds classifications such as Domain, Objective, and common control to each AWS Config rule
- Supports seven compliance frameworks including ISO-IEC-27001, PCI-DSS, and SSAE-18-SOC-2
- Provides consistent classification information across AWS Config Console and Control Tower
- Available in all AWS Commercial regions with AWS Config and AWS Control Tower
