AWS has expanded Site-to-Site VPN support to include IPv6 addresses on outer tunnel IPs, enabling more flexible network configurations for customers.

  • Supports IPv6 addresses on both inner and outer VPN tunnels
  • Helps customers transition to IPv6-only network deployments
  • Eliminates complexity of cross IPv4/IPv6 addressing schemes
  • Reduces public IPv4 costs, as IPv6 tunnel IPs are free
