Establishing a European trust service provider for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud

AWS announced the establishment of a European Trust Service Provider (EU-TSP) for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, launching by the end of 2025 in Brandenburg, Germany.
- Will provide an independent, autonomous certificate authority (CA) within the EU
- Ensures zero operational control outside EU borders
- Only EU-residing AWS employees will control operations
- Completed cryptographic key signing ceremony with third-party auditors
- Will serve as the public root of trust for AWS service endpoints and AWS Certificate Manager
The EU-TSP represents a significant step in providing digital sovereignty for European cloud customers, with all key materials and operations strictly contained within the European Union.
