AWS has released 66 new or updated datasets on the Registry of Open Data, expanding public access to high-value, cloud-optimized data across several key categories:
- Climate and weather datasets from organizations like NOAA, Met Office, and EPA
- Geospatial datasets including satellite imagery and ocean biodiversity information
- Life sciences datasets from institutions like Human Cell Atlas and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative
- Machine learning datasets covering areas like high court judgments and census data
Highlights include collaborations with NASA's Year of Open Science, brain research datasets, and initiatives to democratize data access. The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program now makes over 300 PB of data publicly available, enabling researchers and organizations to leverage cloud-based data analysis.
