Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server now supports Change Data Capture (CDC), a feature that tracks and logs data changes in database tables.
- CDC logs insertions, updates, and deletions in SQL Server tables
- Provides historical context of data changes in a relational format
- Supports Bring-Your-Own-License (BYOL) for Microsoft SQL Server
- RDS automatically applies CDC configurations during hardware replacement or scaling
- Reduces operational overhead of managing database configurations
- Available in all AWS Regions that support RDS Custom for SQL Server
The new feature simplifies change tracking and configuration management for SQL Server databases in AWS.
