Amazon Location Service has expanded its Migration SDK with enhanced capabilities for places, routes, and maps to help customers transition from Google Maps Platform.

  • Added support for nearby search and searching by phone number
  • Introduced waypoint optimization features
  • Enabled step-by-step route planning instructions
  • Allows developers to migrate complex location-based applications without rewriting code
  • Provides a comparison of supported APIs for easy migration assessment

The Migration SDK will continue to be updated as Amazon Location Service expands its mapping and geospatial features, offering an increasingly robust alternative to Google Maps Platform.
