AWS Parallel Computing Service now supports Slurm SPANK plugins
News
AWS Parallel Computing Service (AWS PCS) now supports Slurm SPANK plugins, allowing users to extend and customize Slurm workload scheduling without direct modification of the Slurm system.
- Enables integration with container technologies like Enroot and Pyxis
- Allows custom monitoring of memory and I/O patterns
- Supports dynamic job launch modifications for improved resource management
- Compatible with container images from Amazon ECR, Docker Hub, NVIDIA NGC, and other registries
- Available in all AWS Regions where AWS PCS is deployed
Users can implement SPANK plugins by installing and configuring them on Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) for compute nodes, with plugins dynamically loaded at job launch.
