Amazon OpenSearch Serverless has expanded its capabilities with new AI-powered search features:
- Neural Search enables semantic queries using text and images via high-level API connectors to AI services like SageMaker and Bedrock
- Hybrid Search combines lexical, neural, and vector queries to improve search relevancy
- Workflow API allows packaging AI resources like models and connectors into automated templates
- Supports integration with AI providers including Amazon Bedrock, Cohere, OpenAI, and DeepSeek
- Available in multiple regions including US, Asia Pacific, and Europe
These features are designed to enhance search capabilities, particularly for retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and semantic search use cases.
