Amazon DynamoDB now supports more frequent throughput mode updates from provisioned to on-demand capacity
News
Amazon DynamoDB has enhanced its throughput mode update capabilities, allowing customers to switch from provisioned to on-demand capacity up to four times in a rolling 24-hour period.
- Previously limited to one mode change per 24 hours
- Supports scenarios with frequent large data loading
- Provides greater flexibility in workload management
- Simplifies CloudFormation deployments and rollbacks
- No additional charge for switching capacity modes
On-demand mode offers a serverless database experience with pay-per-request pricing and automatic scaling, enabling applications to easily grow from small to millions of requests per second.
