Amazon DynamoDB now supports more granular throttle error exceptions

Amazon DynamoDB now offers more detailed throttling exceptions and corresponding CloudWatch metrics to help users better understand and diagnose throttling events.

  • New throttling exceptions include specific reasons for throttling
  • Exceptions now contain the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the throttled table or index
  • Helps users take corrective actions like adjusting throughput or optimizing data access patterns
  • Available in all commercial AWS Regions, AWS GovCloud (US), and China Regions
  • Requires upgrading to the newest SDK version

These enhancements provide improved visibility into DynamoDB throttling issues, enabling more precise performance troubleshooting and optimization.
