Amazon DynamoDB now offers more detailed throttling exceptions and corresponding CloudWatch metrics to help users better understand and diagnose throttling events.
- New throttling exceptions include specific reasons for throttling
- Exceptions now contain the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the throttled table or index
- Helps users take corrective actions like adjusting throughput or optimizing data access patterns
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions, AWS GovCloud (US), and China Regions
- Requires upgrading to the newest SDK version
These enhancements provide improved visibility into DynamoDB throttling issues, enabling more precise performance troubleshooting and optimization.
