Accelerate Amazon WorkSpaces deployment with streamlined Bring Your Own License (BYOL) process

News

AWS has enhanced the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) process for Amazon WorkSpaces, offering a more streamlined approach to importing Windows images:

  • Customers can now enable BYOL in their AWS account without contacting support
  • Supports importing customized VM images or Windows ISO files directly into WorkSpaces
  • Uses Amazon EC2 Image Builder to automatically create WorkSpaces-compatible images
  • Automatically identifies and resolves most compatibility issues
  • Provides access to EC2 instances to manually address remaining compatibility problems

The improved process reduces deployment time and troubleshooting efforts for WorkSpaces BYOL images, making it easier for customers to get started with custom Windows environments.
