Media Blog

This article explains how to use Autodesk 3ds Max with service-managed fleets on AWS Deadline Cloud by using configuration scripts to enable 3ds Max rendering on cloud infrastructure.

  • Requires preparing a 3ds Max installation package as a zip file and uploading it to an S3 bucket
  • Involves configuring S3 bucket permissions for the fleet's IAM role
  • Creates a PowerShell worker configuration script to:
    • Download and install 3ds Max 2024
    • Set environment variables
    • Install Deadline Cloud submitter for 3ds Max
  • Deletes default queue environment to prevent job submission conflicts
  • Allows submitting 3ds Max rendering jobs through Deadline Cloud

The solution provides benefits like reduced operational overhead, automatic scaling, and maintaining compatibility with existing 3ds Max workflows.
