Amazon CloudFront adds ECDSA support for signed URLs

Amazon CloudFront has added support for Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) for signed URLs and signed cookies, offering improved content access control.
- Previously only supported RSA encryption algorithms
- ECDSA provides faster signature generation and verification
- Offers smaller signature sizes resulting in shorter URLs
- Provides equivalent security with smaller key sizes
- Beneficial for high-volume applications, mobile, and IoT devices
- Available in all edge locations except China regions
- No additional cost for the feature
The new support gives customers more flexibility in choosing cryptographic algorithms for content access control.
