AWS Backup now supports selective backup of ACLs and ObjectTags in Amazon S3 backups

AWS Backup has introduced a new feature that allows selective backup of Access Control Lists (ACLs) and ObjectTags for Amazon S3 buckets.

  • Previously, all metadata components were backed up by default
  • Users can now customize their backup approach based on recovery needs
  • Customers can choose which metadata to include in their S3 backups
  • Feature is available in all regions where AWS Backup for S3 is supported

This enhancement provides more flexibility and control over S3 backup metadata, allowing organizations to tailor their backup strategies more precisely.
