Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 M4 and M4 Pro Mac instances with significant performance improvements for Apple platform developers.
- M4 Mac instances offer up to 20% better application build performance compared to M2 instances
- M4 Pro Mac instances provide up to 15% better application build performance than M2 Pro instances
- Powered by AWS Nitro System with 10 Gbps network bandwidth and 8 Gbps EBS storage bandwidth
- M4 Mac instances feature 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 24GB unified memory
- M4 Pro Mac instances have 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 48GB unified memory
- Includes 2TB instance store volume per EC2 Mac Dedicated Host
- Supports macOS Sequoia version 15.6 and newer
- Initially available in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions
These new instances enable developers to accelerate application development and testing for Apple platforms with improved performance and AWS cloud capabilities.
