AWS Parallel Computing Service (PCS) has added native support for Amazon EC2 Capacity Blocks for Machine Learning, enhancing GPU-based workload management in Slurm clusters.

  • Enables direct use of reserved EC2 instances in PCS clusters
  • Simplifies capacity planning for GPU-intensive workloads
  • Supports associating EC2 Capacity Blocks with compute node groups via EC2 Launch Template
  • Available in all AWS Regions where both services are supported
  • Part of PCS's broader goal to simplify high performance computing environments

This update helps researchers and engineers focus on innovation by reducing infrastructure management complexities and ensuring reliable GPU capacity for their computational needs.
