AWS Step Functions has added support for IPv6 with new dual-stack endpoints, enabling more flexible networking for serverless workflows.

  • Provides dual-stack support for IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
  • Maintains backwards compatibility with existing IPv4 endpoints
  • Supports IPv6 connectivity through PrivateLink VPC endpoints
  • Enables private service access without public internet traversal
  • Available in multiple US regions, including GovCloud

This enhancement addresses the growing need for IP addresses and allows organizations to modernize applications with expanded network capabilities.
