AWS Step Functions has added support for IPv6 with new dual-stack endpoints, enabling more flexible networking for serverless workflows.
- Provides dual-stack support for IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
- Maintains backwards compatibility with existing IPv4 endpoints
- Supports IPv6 connectivity through PrivateLink VPC endpoints
- Enables private service access without public internet traversal
- Available in multiple US regions, including GovCloud
This enhancement addresses the growing need for IP addresses and allows organizations to modernize applications with expanded network capabilities.
