Amazon RDS announces cross-Region and cross-account snapshot copy

Amazon RDS has introduced a new feature that enables cross-Region and cross-account snapshot copying for Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora databases.
- Allows direct snapshot copying across Regions and accounts in a single step
- Helps manage risks from incidents like ransomware attacks and region outages
- Eliminates the previous two-step copy process, reducing complexity
- Improves recovery point objective (RPO) and reduces associated costs
- Available for all RDS and Aurora engines across AWS Regions
Customers can now implement more efficient database backup and disaster recovery strategies by simplifying their snapshot copy workflows.
