AWS X-Ray introduces Adaptive Sampling for automatic optimized error detection
News
AWS X-Ray has introduced Adaptive Sampling, a new feature to help developers optimize error detection and trace analysis in distributed applications.
- Automatically adjusts sampling rates within user-defined limits
- Captures critical traces during incidents without unnecessary costs
- Supports two approaches: Sampling Boost and Anomaly Span Capture
- Helps reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) during performance issues
- Available in all commercial regions where AWS X-Ray is offered
The feature addresses the challenge of balancing comprehensive trace data with observability costs by dynamically adapting sampling rates based on application performance.
