The NFL and AWS are hosting their eighth annual Big Data Bowl competition, focusing on predicting player movement in football using advanced data analytics.
- Participants will use Next Gen Stats tracking data to forecast player movements after a quarterback's throw
- Competition has two tracks: a Leaderboard track for predictive algorithms and a Data Visualization track
- Previous competitions have produced over 75 machine learning-based stats used in NFL broadcasts and team strategies
- The event has helped place over 70 participants in jobs with NFL teams and sports organizations
- Registration opens September 25, 2025, with finalists presenting at the NFL Scouting Combine in February 2026
