  • Provides a secure, stable, and high-performance runtime environment
  • Follows a two-year major release cycle with five years of long-term support
  • Includes enhanced security features like SELinux support and FIPS 140-3 validation
  • Users can now choose between Amazon Linux 2023 and Amazon Linux 2 for notebook instances
