This article announces self-service migration support for Amazon SageMaker Notebook instances to latest platform versions.
- UpdateNotebookInstance API now includes PlatformIdentifier parameter for platform updates
- Migrate from unsupported versions (notebook-al1-v1, notebook-al2-v1, notebook-al2-v2) to supported versions
- Preserves existing data and configurations during migration
- Platform identifier determines OS and JupyterLab version combination
- Available via AWS CLI (v2.31.27+) and SDK in all SageMaker regions
SageMaker Notebook instances can now be easily updated to current platform versions without manual intervention or data loss.
