What’s New in the AWS Deploy Tool for .NET

AWS has released version 2.0 of the AWS Deploy Tool for .NET, introducing several key improvements for .NET application deployments:

  • Updated runtime requirements to .NET 8 and Node.js 18.x
  • Added container engine support for Podman alongside Docker
  • Introduced support for deploying .NET 10 applications
  • Optimized Dockerfile generation for container-based services
  • Updated to AWS SDK for .NET V4 and AWS CDK libraries

The tool can be updated via .NET CLI or Visual Studio toolkit, with no breaking changes to existing deployment configurations. Developers can install or update the tool to leverage these new features and improved deployment capabilities.
