AWS Launch Wizard has introduced a new feature enabling users to deploy Microsoft SQL Server Developer Edition on Amazon EC2 instances with a guided configuration approach.

  • Simplifies launching cost-effective SQL Server instances for non-production and test environments
  • Allows customers to reduce licensing costs by migrating from Enterprise/Standard to Developer Edition
  • Maintains full feature parity for non-production databases
  • Available across all commercial AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
  • Supports guided sizing, configuration, and deployment of Windows Server EC2 instances

The new feature helps developers create database environments more efficiently while reducing overall SQL Server licensing expenses.
