AWS KMS now supports Edwards-curve Digital Signature Algorithm (EdDSA)

AWS Key Management Service (KMS) now supports the Edwards-curve Digital Signature Algorithm (EdDSA), specifically the Edwards25519 curve (Ed25519).
- Provides 128-bit security level equivalent to NIST P-256
- Offers faster signing performance
- Features small signature size (64 bytes) and public key size (32 bytes)
- Ideal for IoT devices and blockchain applications
- Available in all AWS Regions, including GovCloud and China Regions
This new capability allows users to create elliptic curve asymmetric KMS key or data key pairs for signing and verifying EdDSA signatures.
