This article announces the general availability of provisioned mode for AWS Lambda with Amazon SQS Event Source Mapping, enabling optimized event processing with dedicated polling resources.

  • 3x faster scaling and 16x higher concurrency for SQS event processing
  • Event pollers auto-scale up to 1000 per concurrent executions per minute
  • Support for up to 20,000 concurrency and 2 GBps aggregate traffic
  • Configure minimum and maximum event pollers for baseline and peak capacity
  • Each event poller handles up to 1 MB/sec throughput or 10 concurrent invokes
  • Predictable low-latency processing during traffic spikes
