This article announces that Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now supports long-running sessions with corporate identities through AWS IAM Identity Center's trusted identity propagation capability.
- Sessions continue running in background using corporate credentials after logout
- Supports interactive notebooks and data processing on EMR and AWS Glue
- Sessions persist through network disconnections and credential refreshes
- Sessions can run up to 90 days (default 7 days)
- Maintains security and access controls via IAM Identity Center
- Available in all existing SageMaker Unified Studio regions
This feature enables data teams to run resource-intensive workflows without monitoring, improving productivity and resource utilization.
