Networking & Content Delivery Blog

This article introduces AWS Site-to-Site VPN Concentrator, a new Transit Gateway attachment feature that simplifies multi-site connectivity for distributed enterprises.

  • Multiple remote sites share single VPN attachment to Transit Gateway
  • Supports 5 Gbps aggregate bandwidth per concentrator with high availability
  • Ideal for organizations with 25+ remote sites requiring 50-100 Mbps each
  • Reduces operational overhead and per-site VPN costs through consolidated connections
  • Automatic provisioning of two concentrator endpoints across availability zones
  • Setup via AWS Management Console with three steps: create concentrator, create VPN connection, configure routing
  • Supports IPv4, IPv6, BGP routing, and accelerated VPN connections
  • Does not support static routing, ECMP, or Private IP VPN connections
  • Integrates with CloudWatch metrics, VPN logs, and Transit Gateway flow logs

VPN Concentrator enables cost-effective, scalable multi-site connectivity for retail chains, restaurants, hotels, and healthcare providers managing distributed locations.
