This article announces a new AWS IoT Core capability enabling dynamic retrieval of IoT thing registry data within IoT rules for enhanced message processing.
- New get_registry_data() inline function retrieves device attributes, type, and group membership
- Filter AWS IoT Core connectivity lifecycle events using registry data
- Route lifecycle events to different endpoints based on device classification
- Enrich IoT messages with registry data from other connected devices
- Example: Add sensor threshold temperature from registry to gateway messages
- Available in all AWS regions where AWS IoT Core is present
This feature simplifies IoT message filtering, enrichment, and routing by integrating registry data directly into IoT rule processing.
