Amazon Application Recovery Controller region switch now supports three new capabilities

This article announces three new capabilities for Amazon Application Recovery Controller (ARC) Region switch, which orchestrates multi-Region application failover to achieve bounded recovery times during regional outages.

  • AWS GovCloud (US) support now generally available in US-East and US-West regions
  • Plan execution reports automatically generated and saved to Amazon S3 with detailed recovery timelines and RTO calculations
  • DocumentDB global cluster execution blocks added for automated multi-Region database recovery and failover orchestration

These enhancements reduce manual failover effort, eliminate compliance documentation overhead, and expand ARC Region switch capabilities for government cloud and database workloads.
