Amazon CloudWatch now supports multi-account and region log centralization based on data source

News

This article announces that Amazon CloudWatch now supports centralizing logs based on data source name and type across multiple AWS accounts and regions.

  • Centralize logs by data source type (VPC Flow Logs, EKS Audit Logs, CloudTrail Logs)
  • Automatically discovers data source names and types for AWS service logs
  • Uses log group tags to identify data sources for application logs
  • Eliminates need to maintain lists of individual log group names
  • Available in all AWS commercial regions with CloudWatch log centralization
  • Standard CloudWatch Logs pricing applies for ingestion, storage, and transfer

CloudWatch log centralization now enables organizations to target specific log types across their entire infrastructure without manual log group management.
