This article announces increased Amazon EBS performance for specific Amazon EC2 instance types powered by AWS Graviton4 processors.
- C8gn, M8gn, and R8gn instances in 48xlarge and metal-48xl sizes now support doubled EBS performance
- EBS bandwidth increased from 60 Gbps to 120 Gbps
- IOPS increased from 240,000 to 480,000
- Enhancement powered by latest 6th generation AWS Nitro Cards
- No additional cost for existing and new instances
- Existing instances can stop/start to enable the performance increase
- Available in all AWS regions where these instance types are offered
This upgrade benefits network-intensive workloads requiring high block storage performance, such as data analytics and high-performance file systems.
