AWS Managed Microsoft AD now supports Kerberos Encryption audit event logs

This article announces that AWS Managed Microsoft AD now supports forwarding Kerberos Encryption audit event logs to Amazon CloudWatch Logs.

  • Forwards Kerberos Encryption audit events (IDs 201–209) to CloudWatch Logs
  • Provides visibility into encryption types used by applications and services
  • Identifies resources using RC4 versus AES encryption
  • Helps determine upgrade path to AES encryption or maintain RC4 support
  • Enable via AWS Directory Service console Network and Security tab
  • Available in all AWS Regions except Middle East (UAE) and (Bahrain)

This feature enhances security visibility for Kerberos encryption in AWS Managed Microsoft AD environments.
