This article announces new IPv6 capabilities for Amazon Route 53 Resolver endpoints to support hybrid DNS management across IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
- DNS64 on inbound endpoints synthesizes AAAA responses for IPv4-only domains
- IPv6-only clients on-premises can reach IPv4 AWS services without modifications
- Outbound endpoints forward DNS queries to public IPv6 name servers via IGW
- Simplifies hybrid cloud DNS between on-premises and Amazon VPC
- Available at no additional cost in all supported AWS Regions
These new capabilities enable seamless IPv6 and IPv4 communication across hybrid environments without workarounds.
