Amazon Route 53 Profiles has introduced dual stack support for API endpoints, enabling connectivity through IPv6, IPv4, or dual stack clients.
- Supports simultaneous IPv4 and IPv6 connections
- Allows gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6 systems
- Helps meet IPv6 compliance requirements
- Eliminates need for expensive network address translation equipment
- Available in all AWS Commercial and GovCloud (US) Regions
The update enables easier DNS configuration management across VPCs and AWS accounts while addressing the growing shortage of IPv4 addresses.
