AWS IoT Device Management adds MQTT session data to connectivity status API
News
This article announces that AWS IoT Device Management's connectivity status API now includes MQTT session data, enabling troubleshooting and auditing of IoT device connections.
- API now provides MQTT session timeout and expiry values for devices
- Includes optional socket-level details: IP addresses, ports, VPC endpoint IDs
- Granular IAM policies control access to sensitive socket information
- Indefinite data retention, unlike GetConnection API's 30-minute window
- Available in all AWS regions supporting IoT Device Management
This enhancement enables teams to investigate device disconnections and troubleshoot connectivity issues long after devices go offline.
