AWS Compute Optimizer now includes improved visibility into IOPS and throughput spikes when delivering Amazon EBS volume rightsizing recommendations.
- Analyzes VolumeIOPSExceededCheck and VolumeThroughputExceededCheck CloudWatch metrics
- Detects when workloads attempt to exceed provisioned volume performance
- Helps balance cost and performance for burst workloads
- Available in all AWS Regions except GovCloud and China
- No additional charge for CloudWatch metrics on Nitro-based EC2 instances
This enhancement enables better rightsizing decisions for workloads experiencing IOPS or throughput bursts.
