AWS Compute Optimizer now supports 32-day lookback for EBS volume and ECS service rightsizing recommendations

News

This article announces that AWS Compute Optimizer now supports a 32-day lookback period for EBS volume and ECS service rightsizing recommendations, extending from the default 14 days at no additional cost.

  • Longer lookback period captures monthly utilization patterns like month-end processing
  • Helps make better optimization decisions for improved cost and performance outcomes
  • 32-day lookback now available for five recommendation types: EC2, Auto Scaling, RDS, EBS, ECS
  • Configurable at organization, account, or resource level via console, SDK, or CLI
  • Available in all AWS Regions except GovCloud and China Regions

This enhancement enables more accurate rightsizing recommendations by accounting for longer-term usage patterns.
