Amazon S3 now supports delivering server access logs to Amazon CloudWatch Logs and Amazon S3 Tables, providing enhanced monitoring and analysis capabilities.
- CloudWatch Logs delivery enables instant querying, alarms, and cross-account/Region aggregation with KMS encryption
- S3 Tables mirror logs in Apache Iceberg format at no additional storage cost
- Set alarms on error rates and monitor traffic patterns across accounts and Regions
- Query logs with standard SQL in Athena, Redshift, and other Iceberg-compatible engines
- Available in all AWS Regions except China and GovCloud
These new delivery options complement existing S3 bucket logging, giving customers flexible choices for monitoring and analyzing S3 access patterns and usage trends.
