Amazon RDS for Db2 now supports self-managed Active Directory

This article announces that Amazon RDS for Db2 now supports direct integration with self-managed Microsoft Active Directory for authentication and single sign-on.
- Join RDS for Db2 instances directly to self-managed AD domains on-premises, AWS, or other clouds
- Use Kerberos authentication protocol for database user authentication and authorization
- Eliminates need for AWS Managed Microsoft AD and directory trust setup
- Domain-join via new instance creation or modification using AD service account credentials from AWS Secrets Manager
- Self-managed AD integration available at no additional charge
- Generally available in all AWS Regions where RDS for Db2 is supported, including GovCloud
This simplifies identity management for RDS for Db2 customers by enabling direct use of existing self-managed Active Directory infrastructure.
