AWS announces AWS Interconnect - last mile, a fully managed connectivity service enabling customers to connect branch offices, data centers, and remote locations to AWS with simplified setup.
- Establish private, high-speed connections by selecting AWS Region, bandwidth, Direct Connect Gateway ID, and partner subscriber ID
- AWS generates activation key for provisioning with AT&T; automates BGP peering, VLAN configuration, and ASN assignment
- Supports zero downtime maintenance with high availability and SLA backing
- Available in gated preview with AT&T for US customers; open API on GitHub for partner adoption
