Amazon SageMaker now supports data lineage in IAM-based domains

Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now supports OpenLineage-compatible data lineage in IAM-based domains, extending a capability previously available only in IAM Identity Center-based domains.
- Captures lineage events from Apache Spark, AWS Glue, SageMaker Visual ETL, and notebooks
- Interactive lineage graph shows data flow from source to consumption with configurable depth
- Column-level lineage tracking via event timestamp mode for detailed visibility
- Programmatic APIs for publishing, querying, and managing lineage from OpenLineage applications
- New DeleteLineageEvent API enables removal of published lineage events
- Available in all AWS Regions supporting SageMaker Unified Studio
This enhancement enables better data governance and traceability across ETL workflows in SageMaker Unified Studio.
