Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) now available as a skill in the Agent Toolkit for AWS

News

Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) is now available as a specialized database skill in the Agent Toolkit for AWS, enabling AI coding agents to manage DocumentDB clusters using best-practice workflows.

  • Covers seven workflows: cluster provisioning, schema design, MongoDB compatibility assessment, DMS-based migration, performance tuning, well-architected review, and version upgrades
  • Integrates with AWS MCP Server for executing AWS CLI commands with IAM-based guardrails and CloudTrail audit logging
  • Works standalone via AWS CLI for teams preferring local execution
  • Available at no additional charge as part of Agent Toolkit for AWS

The skill reduces manual effort and errors by automating DocumentDB operations through AI agents without requiring manual documentation lookup.
