  • New free Standard Developer Edition (Dev-SE) for development and testing without licensing costs
  • Standard Edition capacity increases to 32 cores and 256 GB buffer pool memory
  • Standard Edition gains Resource Governor, previously exclusive to Enterprise Edition
  • Native vector data type for storing and querying vector embeddings directly in the database
  • Existing RDS customers can upgrade by modifying the DB engine version
