This article announces that Amazon Kinesis Data Streams now supports scaling down ingest capacity with warm throughput for on-demand streams.
- Set lower warm throughput values to scale down ingest capacity on on-demand streams
- Stream adjusts to requested capacity or peak usage from last hour, whichever is higher
- Ensures sufficient capacity for current traffic while releasing excess capacity
- Available at no additional cost for on-demand streams with On-demand Advantage mode enabled
- Feature available in all AWS Regions supporting Kinesis Data Streams On-demand Advantage
Warm throughput scale-down provides full control over stream write throughput for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
