Amazon Redshift Data API announces new capabilities that reduce API calls, provide session visibility, and enable flexible batch execution with independent transactions.
- Long polling delays synchronous responses until SQL statements finish, reducing repeated polling calls
- ListSessions allows enumeration and filtering of active sessions by status, compute target, or database
- AUTO_COMMIT mode in BatchExecuteStatement executes each statement independently without rolling back on failure
- SqlParameter arrays enable parameter reuse across all statements in a batch
- Generally available for Redshift Provisioned and Serverless in all AWS commercial and GovCloud regions
