AWS Parallel Computing Service now supports node lifecycle actions
News
AWS announces general availability of node lifecycle actions in AWS Parallel Computing Service (PCS), allowing automatic execution of custom scripts at defined points in compute node lifecycles.
- Run custom scripts automatically at defined lifecycle stages to prepare nodes for work
- Mount shared storage, join directory services, install software, or set up monitoring
- Define actions in compute node group configuration with S3 or HTTPS URI locations
- Configure script arguments, reboot behavior, and error-handling policies
- AWS PCS logs script output for visibility and troubleshooting
- Reuse scripts across multiple compute node groups and clusters
- Available in all AWS Regions supporting AWS PCS
Node lifecycle actions simplify HPC workload preparation and management by automating repetitive node configuration tasks across elastic computing environments.
