AWS Glue Data Catalog adds metadata export capabilities to S3 Tables and expands semantic search to KMS-encrypted catalogs.
- Export technical and business metadata to S3 Tables in Apache Iceberg format
- Query, audit, and perform time travel analysis using standard SQL in Athena and QuickSight
- Join catalog metadata with other AWS service data for comprehensive analysis
- Semantic search now supports catalogs encrypted with customer managed KMS keys
- Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland)
These capabilities enable organizations to leverage their metadata for deeper insights and compliance auditing through standard SQL queries.
