Amazon MSK Provisioned clusters now support configuring custom domain names at the cluster level for both ZooKeeper and KRaft metadata management modes.
- Configure custom domain names once at cluster level; automatically applied to all brokers
- Eliminates manual per-broker configuration previously required
- Persists through scaling operations and cluster migrations
- Supports both ZooKeeper and KRaft-based clusters identically
- Useful for Network Load Balancer routing and compliance requirements
- Available on all new and existing MSK Provisioned clusters at no additional cost
This capability simplifies cluster operations by maintaining consistent connection endpoints across migrations, failovers, and scaling without requiring application reconfiguration.
