Enabling mandatory purchase orders and custom guidance in AWS Marketplace

AWS Marketplace Blog

AWS Marketplace introduces two new governance capabilities to enforce procurement compliance and improve financial controls for organizations.

  • Mandatory purchase orders require buyers to enter a PO number before completing AWS Marketplace subscriptions, configurable by offer type and pricing model
  • Custom user guidance messages display organizational procurement policies and expected PO formats at the point of purchase
  • Features can be tailored to different audiences using experiences for organizational units or specific AWS accounts
  • Enables automatic invoice reconciliation with procure-to-pay systems like SAP Ariba and Coupa
  • Eliminates manual cross-charging by ensuring correct cost center attribution on invoices
  • Available now in AWS Marketplace console under Organizational procurement settings with no additional costs

These features balance agility with governance, allowing organizations to extend AWS Marketplace access while maintaining compliance and improving financial oversight.
